Are you an experienced organic chemist with an innovative mind-set who wants to take part in improving the properties of plastics? Are you interested in working in an entrepreneurial company with global potential? If your answer is yes, you may be the candidate we are looking for!
As an R&D Engineer you will be responsible for advancing the product development of heat-activated cross-linkers for plastics. The aim is to develop large-scale, cost-effective products and processes. This involves evaluation and selection of raw materials as well as looking at manufacturing processes and cost. This is to a great extent a lab-based position. You will work with synthesis and characterization of cross-linkers as well as with transferring small lab scale synthesis to kilogram scale. In this role you will also be responsible for tech transfer to and contact with Nexam's pilot plant in Scotland as well as with contract manufacturers.
As an R&D Engineer you will be responsible of keeping yourself and the company updated regarding the technology and product development within industrial chemistry.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
• PhD in Organic Chemistry or MSc in Chemical Engineering with 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
• It is a great advantage if you have experience of working with industrial production, or other relevant industrial collaborations.
• Experienced with the challenges of upscaling of production
• Strong innovative mind-set.
• Conscious of the challenges that are involved in cost-effective large-scale production.
• An interest in independent lab-based work.
• You are fluent in English in speech and writing. It is an advantage if you also master Swedish.
As a person you are curious and have the courage to try new ideas and methods. You have an experimental approach and like to practically test your ideas in the laboratory, independently or as a part of a team. You are analytical with high abilities to technical problem solving.
