Cochlear BAS is a rapidly growing company. The purchasing group consists of seven colleagues and this position is a new role in the group. The main purpose will be to manage the compliance and effectiveness of the quality systems of the suppliers and Cochlear BAS relating to supplier management. You will sup-port and lead the purchasers in their daily work with regards to the quality systems. Your main tasks will be to:
• Support purchasers in the supplier evaluation and selection process.
• Develop and maintain the supplier audit schedule.
• Perform and lead supplier audits on site at Cochlear BAS suppliers with a positive spirit to establish good relations and gain trust.
• Write reports from audits and manage the follow-up activities at the suppliers according to the audit report plan.
• Ensure subcontracted activities meet compliance requirements.
• Work with suppliers to provide advice on Cochlear’s Quality System and on the quality requirements for purchased parts.
• Support the validation of supplier processes.
• Identify and implement improvements relating to internal processes for ensuring right supplier quality level (e g Supplier Complaint procedure).
• Training in supplier quality related procedures at CBAS specially for purchasers.
• Co-operate with colleagues at the head office of Cochlear Ltd. in Sydney
The right candidate for this position has a Bachelor degree in engineering and minimum 5 years experience with quality systems. Previous experience in quality assurance from the medical device industry is an advantage. You have worked with ISO9001 or preferably ISO13485. Since Cochlear has started to introduce sex sigma it will be an advantage if you have experience in this. You have good communication skills and your English is on a high level written as well as oral. You are a structured, systematic and analytical person. You hold a driving license.
