Position Summary

Platform Development is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses. We are responsible for developing platform solutions within the areas of Chassis Body in white, Body, Powertrain and Electrical. The main sites are located in Sweden and Brazil.
Volvo Buses is now looking for a Project Manager Engineering (PME) for our Project Management office within Platform Development who has the drive and passion to contribute to Volvo buses profitability.
As a PME for Volvo Busses you will lead the Technical organization or sub parts of the Technical organization from project initiation to the end of the project. You will represent the technical area in the Project Management Group.
You will lead, plan and secure engineering activities to meet agreed project QDCF targets (Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature).
Main Responsibilities
The PME is fully responsible and accountable for the overall technical delivery and timing of the assigned project or sub part of a project
The PME is responsible for:
• Proactively planning, leading, driving and following-up the technical delivery of the project according to the DVP project handbook and decided support processes, managing the stakeholders, communicating and minimizing the risks
• Manage risk to minimize impact on project, pro-actively escalate risks and concerns outside project team control to line management
• Ensure that appointed personal understand their deliveries in the project according to agreed and balanced targets.
• Secure knowledge capture and re-use
• Full responsibility for the engineering project cost within the decided frame
• Hardware and software verification and validation plan and execution including Product Development simulation, virtual and physical builds

Profile
• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering or related field
• Project management experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to coach and lead in a challenging environment
• Pro-active and open mind set
• Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships in a positive way
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is a requirement
