each with a distinct set of duties and expectations. In addition, this role requires a high degree of flexibility
and ability to cope with ambiguity and rapid change due to the ever changing and fluid nature of research and
development operations.
The main types of responsibilities and expectations thereof are (in no particular order of priority):
1. Achieve full visibility of projects and efforts which may impact Electrode Production at the R&D
Lab in timescales up to at least six (6) months, aiming for twenty-four (24) months in general.
a. Present long horizon plans on a regular basis to the Electrode Team and on an occasional basis to the entire R&D Labs Team to ensure that the workforce is as well informed as possible.
b. Attend Weekly Project Meetings organized by the CPMs and report on current status, risks and achievements and to get direct visibility on the information provided by the CPM and the Projects core team members working in: Cell Design, Industrialization, Quality, Validation, Purchasing etc.
c. Attend the SIOP Cycle Meetings organized by the SIOP Manager and report on conflicts and risks related to capacity and planning. When needed create scenarios to visualize alternative scheduling options depending on prioritization between projects.
2. Responsibility for the Readiness before execution of Electrode Assembly Work Orders. This covers Work Orders (WO) from various external customers as well as internal projects and investigations which require a WO.
a. Organize and lead pre-WO planning sessions with various stakeholders such as external Cell Designers, Validation, Planners, Shift Managers, Quality, QC and Business Development.
b. Conduct WO review sessions prior to acceptance of the work and start of work. This is done in accordance with the appropriate SOP and/or WI for WO review and acceptance.
c. Work closely with the Material Planner to ensure that all parts and components required for successful execution of the WO are ordered in sufficient quantities based on yields and material consumption calculations made by the Electrode Planner*. Also ensure that the parts and components arrive on time or that there is clarity regarding what alternative to use. This would not involve placing purchase orders (POs) for specific components; it would simply involve ensuring that the various external parties have placed the appropriate, required parts and component POs.
d. Ensure external parties who will take part in the production and receive material or product from the R&D Lab as a continuing part of the Work Order Process are well informed and have received the latest copy of the Work Order. This includes entities such as Northvolt Labs electrode production, Northvolt Labs Cell Assembly, R&D Labs Cell Assembly, and Northvolt's Validation facility when required.
e. Align with the Electrode Planner to ensure that various WOs are properly planned with regards to resource availability. This includes consideration of staffing levels and availability, and projected yields based on historical data. Calculations and analysis should be done by the Electrode Planner and shared with the EPM.
f. Ensure that there is clarity in the following areas before starting a WO: - Quantities and deadlines - Schedule and order of priority of DOEs or batches - Process parameters - Drawings & Specifications - Quality checks - Resource availability: staffing, materials, production slot, equipment
g. Ensure that left over components and supplies are dispositioned as directed by the appropriate stakeholder
