The research activities within this multidisciplinary school include the areas of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Organic Chemistry, Marine Ecology and Microbiology.
The Marine Ecology group seeks a project assistant specialized in field studies with a background in marine ecology.
The position involves field samplings in the coastal Baltic Sea and in the Baltic Proper for biological and chemical analyses, including measuring basal, zooplankton and fish production using isotopes. A large part of the work includes working with live fish in the field and experimentally in controlled conditions. Planning, preparations and following lab and data analyses is also included. The position also involves educational duties tutoring and supervising students during laboratory exercises and field trips.
Applicants should have a Masters degree in Biology (240 hp) with focus on Aquatic/Marine Ecology. The applicant should have a good expertise in conducting field studies in the coastal Baltic Sea, and good analytical skills in plankton and fish ecology. Excellent written and communication skills in English and Swedish are essential. The applicants should also have extensive experience with motorboats and preferably also local knowledge about the surrounding marine area. Experience from data handling and statistical analyses is needed and it is advantageous with teaching and supervising experience. B-license for car is required. The position is located in Kalmar
