The School of Business is seeking a professor in Information Systems/Informatics for a permanent post.

Background
The Informatics Department at Örebro University School of Business has a long tradition of research and education and is currently in an expansive phase. Informatics is taught on the Bachelor Programme of Systems Analysis and the Master's Programme in Information Systems - Information Security Management. The department also offers a study programme at the doctoral level.

The goal for the Bachelor Programme of Systems Analysis is to train IT consultants to be able to integrate organisational development and systems development. Students are therefore trained in a number of different organisational and systems development methods as well as software development environments to provide them with a broad knowledge base within systems development. The goal of the Master's programme is to develop students' ability to manage and handle information security in private as well as public organisations. Students are trained to deal with social, administrative and technical safety measures as an integrated whole.

Research in Informatics is pursued within the research environment Centre for Empirical Research on Information Systems (CERIS) and deals with the digitalisation of organisations and society. CERIS conducts research in a number of application areas such as: automated decision-making/AI; eHealth; digitalization of government; digitalization of developing countries; crisis management; information security; digitalization of school and systems development methods.

Örebro University School of Business is in need of recruiting a professor in information systems/informatics that can support, strengthen and take a lead in CERIS research.

Duties and responsibilities
As a rule, a professor spends the bulk of their working hours on research. A professor is also expected to work actively to bring in external research grants to the subject area, take an overall responsibility for its research activities, and monitor developments within the subject field internationally. A professor is expected to be involved at all three levels of higher education and to disseminate information on and collaborate around their own and the department's research activities.

A professor is moreover expected, within the scope of their employment, to make themselves available for executive and administrative assignments at the University.We wish that you can play a central and leading role in scientific collaboration and development of the subject. Considering the nature of the tasks, high attendance at the workplace is important.

The position is a full-time, permanent post. The salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. Positions announced at Örebro University are, where appropriate, subject to a trial period.
