Do you want to join us in bringing our world leading engines into the future?
The Engine Development department is the centre within Volvo CE for development of engines and auxiliary components. The development responsibility consists of engine mechanical design, engine performance development and design of auxiliary components for the engines installed in Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road and Utility Machinery.
The Engine Performance department is responsible for the optimization of the engine and its subsystems regarding performance, emissions, fuel consumption, drivability and diagnosis. We are also responsible for all engine SW deliveries to Advanced Engineering, New Products and Product Maintenance.
Our current Product Maintenance Engineer will continue within the organization and we are now searching for his successor.
Job description.
As the product maintenance responsible within the engine performance group you will handle all issues concerning drivability and emissions for D4-16 engines in production and aftermarket. You will receive assignments from the global product maintenance team and then solve it within the group. This means that a problem can be solved in test cell, in machine or in a lab environment.
You will handle the tasks all the way from a reported problem until the delivery to the SW/DST team, when a release process needs to be planned and performed.
There are always more then one ongoing issue so good planning abilities are required. It is also desirable that you have broad technical knowledge and are creative when it comes to problem solving.
A big part of the job concerns the interface between the engine and the machine, such as sensor signal evaluations and diagnostics. It is often in this way a problem is detected and reported. An understanding about CAN communication and sensor diagnostics is therefore also advantageous.
You will be working in close cooperation with our colleagues within the Engine Development department, the Product Platforms and Volvo Powertrain. Since the engine department works globally it is necessary that you have the possibility to travel, sometimes on short notice and all over the world.
We can offer you a challenging and interesting work environment in a prestige less team, as well as good opportunities for personal development!
