The Milling Tools department in Sandviken plays a central part in securing our position as a global leading supplier of tools within metal cutting. Our team is creative and future-oriented, always striving to give our customers better solutions and to raise the bar for our competitors. We are responsible for the whole process, from idea to launched product, and we are a vital part in ensuring our customers' future success. The main challenges we face are to find new innovative solutions for our coming products, speed up our development and build knowledge platforms for the future. We are now looking for a Product Development Engineer to join us in a creative, international environment where the work is done in a modern and innovative way. This is a one year temporary assignment covering a parental leave, starting October 2018 until October 2019.
Key performance areas
As Product Development Engineer, you work with experienced, skilled and motivated people to create outstanding solutions for our customers together; developing the knowledge that makes way for creating future products. As a team member, you are responsible for planning and performing testing to verify product performance through Computed verification simulation, using tools such as NX or Ansys. You take an active role in the design work of new product solutions, including CAD design and setting tolerance demands, and you participate in product design reviews, document design and quality verification rules.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience. We preferably see that you have experience in CAD (NX), and we value experience in metal cutting, product development and production as well as from modeling and simulation. As we act in an international setting, you are fluent in both written and verbal English, while skills in Swedish are an advantage.
