BAT FIEDLER & LUNDGREN IS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCT DEVELOPER
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
Purpose:
Plan, coordinate and deliver projects and activities within the Oral Product Deployment Team which requires the coordination of internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of the commercial vision for the Oral category.
Context:
Smokeless Tobacco and Oral Nicotine products has recently begun expansion as a category globally with several product alternatives being developed by major tobacco companies and test marketed with consumers. With this comes many challenges differing from those of the established cigarette business. BAT need to develop and deploy a wide range of products under food hygiene conditions and implement reactive planning and supply models to deliver product with a defined shelf life to markets with unpredictable demand associated with new category launches. To date the Oral Deployment Team has been responsible for development and deployment of Oral Tobacco and nicotine in over 25 markets globally. Further expansion of the category is expected within 2022.
F&L is one of 3 Oral Product producing factories. It is also the central knowledge base and facility for the development, manufacturing and supply of the expanding Oral Tobacco and Oral Nicotine category business. F&L is based in Malmö, Sweden
Reports to: Product Development & New Category Manager
Geographic Scope: Area
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
• Lead deployment workstreams through the NPI process
• Lead assigned development activities (non-transformational, continuous improvement, regulatory, etc.)
• Promote and integrate ways of working within the Deployment team
• Support implementation of new and modified products at factory level, through specifications creation and manufacturing SOP's
• Support in manufacturing trials, material validation, new product implementations
• Assist with product specifications and recipes approval in SAP system according to project lead times and product requirements
• Engage with product governance teams through set up of accurate specifications OTIF

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Preferably a Master of Science degree in the field Food Science, Chemistry or Engineering
• Fluent in English both written and verbal
• High understanding of project management
• Good problem-solving skills
• Resourceful, showing great initiative to overcome hurdles
• Seek opportunities and methods to drive products performance and quality
• Commercial awareness
• Can lead cross functionally and can work with external suppliers effectively
• Strong team player, creative, entrepreneurial, dynamic, positive can-do attitude supported by a drive to succeed
• Agile in a fast-moving environment and flexible in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
