Product Buyer, Temporary position

The Exterior Purchasing team Body & Stamping sources advanced engineering projects; new car programs and cost optimize running production for all of Volvo Car Group's manufacturing plants. The scope of buying is within the areas: hot formed steel, die casting, extrusions, roll forming, welded assembly, intercompany production, heat shields and cold formed stampings. The team is responsible to develop the supply base and commodity strategy as well as negotiate pricing with the objective to cost optimize.

One of the employees will be on maternity leave and we are now looking for a Product Buyer as a temporary member of the Body & Stampings Team. As a Product Buyer you will work in close collaboration with the Commodity Buyers. Your main responsibilities will be within the administration area such as project administration, transact and update price files, reporting progress and result, transact purchase orders and have frequent supplier contacts on a daily business level.

Main responsibilities

• Drive resolution and establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
• Negotiate commercial and time consequences at suppliers connected to design changes in vehicle projects and establish agreements
• Participate in cross functional teams within Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing
• Drive continuous improvement activities within purchasing and suppliers
• Support development of supplier strategies and commodity business plans
• Support yearly commercial negotiations with the objective to reduce cost and price for the area
• Support raw material negations for the area
• Support supplier selections
• Work toward individual targets

Required qualifications

• 2-5 years of purchasing and/or project leader experience
• Interest in technology and in making business
• Good overall administration skills are needed including good knowledge in excel and power point
• Fluent in English
• Driver's license B
• Experience within the automotive area is meritorious as well as previous Volvo Cars experience
• International experience will be an advantage
• University degree in business, engineering or equivalent work experience is desired
