In Västerås we have several units including the head office of Bombardier in Sweden. Several divisions are headquartered here. The units work on projects ranging from development to production management and delivery of complete vehicles, both for the Swedish market and for export, development and production of propulsion and control systems, service, maintenance and complete traffic systems. Major projects in recent years include total solutions for metro and tram lines for two large cities in Turkey, development and construction of the Öresund and Regina trains and the development and production of a wide range of propulsion and control systems that have been sold to train integrators all over the world.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Procurement Project Manager is member of Project Core Team and the interface between the project and the entire procurement network without buying directly. It is also the interface with other functions.
The Procurement Project Manager ensures definition and successful execution of sourcing strategies and manage the end-to-end procurement activities of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and manage the Procurement Project Plan and the schedule of long lead items and supplier quality plan;
• Acts as interface in production meetings, non-conformity meetings, Change Control Board meetings, Project Risk, Opportunity and Improvement meetings, Gate Reviews and Claim Review meetings;
• Leverage the Bombardier Transportation Procurement network to optimize supplies to projects according to Project Management needs;
• Take responsibility for ensuring that Project needs relating to material cost, warranty, inventory, packaging and delivery performance are met;
• Utilize appropriate tools and techniques effectively to ensure that Procurement delivers its cost and performance requirements, e.g. Global Sourcing, cost improvements, Open Book Costing, Value Engineering, Value Stream Mapping;
• Oversees project specific Terms and Conditions for suppliers in accordance with customer's and Bombardier Transportation's requirements and needs, negotiated by buyers with legal support;
• Involve and manage suppliers into a Joint Product Design Development Process (JDDP) in order to integrate efficiently supplier solutions (where relevant);
• Assist the setting up of the project within ERP system;
• Hold regular Material Cost Performance meetings with Project Management and Finance;
• Drive cost reduction initiatives with local and global procurement teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master's Degree, preferably in an area such as: Engineering, Procurement/Supply Chain, Project Management, Industrial Management, Commercial or similar;
• Experience in a similar role in Procurement, combining Project Management, technical exposure, financial analysis and forecasting, ideally in a transportation industry (e.g. railway, automotive, aerospace) or in a similar manufacturing/engineering industry;
• Solid working knowledge in ERP systems and eProcurement tools
• Very good communication and negotiation skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Language skills: English at advanced/business fluent level is mandatory. Fluent Swedish would be an advantage;
• Willingness to travel up to 5% per year.
