Process Engineer, Karlstad

About the Position

We are now looking for a Lead Process Engineer to Valmet Karlstad who wants to develop together with us. You will work globally with White Liquor Plants , as well as work with our product specialists to develop new products and optimize existing ones. You will also participate in and lead troubleshooting and mill audits.

Job Duties
In the team, we work in projects together with colleagues from other departments within Valmet. Projects typically last about 1-2 years and you usually work on several projects in parallel. The work at Valmet is independent where, with the help and support of your colleagues, you plan your own work according to our internal schedule and customer deadlines.
For example, you will:
• Provide technical support in our sales projects.
• Participate in project work in our delivery projects globally.
• Perform process dimensioning of new plants and rebuilds.
• Work with mass, water and energy balances.
• Work hand in hand with other engineering disciplines like electrical and instrumentation, plant design, machine construction.
• Participate in customer meetings and plant troubleshooting globally. These are planned activities and include travelling.
• Support with reference management.
• Participate in our R&D projects to develop our products and processes and initiate improved ways of working. Research and development is a key part our portfolio and Valmet looks to provide sustainable and environmental solutions for clients.
We Are Looking for You Who:
• Has a Master of Science or Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or has another equivalent relevant technical education or has acquired equivalent competence through several years of work experience.
• Is fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Other language skills are an advantage.
• Has a driver's license (code B) as travelling is included in the job.
• Has experience from working in the pulp and paper industry or other chemical industries.
As a person, we hope that you are initiative-taking, communicative and flexible. We believe that you are structured and independent and like to take responsibility. Identifying and solving problems is something you should enjoy and are good at. You should have good communication skills as well as enjoy collaborating in a team.
