Dina arbetsuppgifterWe are looking for a Principal Interaction Designer, who is responsible for creating Photography application concepts and designs, and taking them to final implementation. As Principal Designer you : . Lead a user-centric design process to create design briefs, application propositions, information architectures, interaction flows, wireframes and specifications. . Work closely with business program leads, product designers, software developers, prototypers and usability experts to iterate the design until it's fit for market. . Plan and guide the work of other/junior designers . Deliver design specifications and ensure good fit and finish of final product. Based on user and business requirements and your creative inspiration, you will create desirable user experiences across a range of device platforms, communicated in design principles, user scenarios, IA overview, wireframes and UI specifications. You will be able to effectively communicate these designs with Product Management and Engineering teams, and to deliver the final product through design specifications and the fit and finish process. You need to understand the behaviours, needs and context of users in a range of markets and be ready to adjust your designs according to study findings. On the other hand, you also need to understand Microsoft's business strategy and form and discuss your own opinion on what makes an experience "marketable". You should be able to travel abroad, for example to observe consumer research or to discuss design requirements with our business partners. Key challenges . Projects do not always begin with a clear-cut design brief. Oftentimes the problem space is vague, and the designers need to work with consumer researchers, product marketers and technology experts to define the app's value proposition. Designers need be comfortable dealing with uncertainties, and have the skills to lead the process towards a clear design brief. . You will need to adapt to new ways of working, and make sure we collaborate and share knowledge with other teams, etc. Designers need to be flexible and open-minded, and easily connect with new people.
Utbildning och erfarenhetMinimum . Master's degree related to Interaction Design or similar. . Significant professional experience designing shipping applications and services. Our senior and principal designers demonstrate design capabilities usually taking more than 8+ years to acquire. . Experience designing for Windows or other modern smartphone platforms . Portfolio of compelling interaction design work with examples of design proposals, user scenarios, use cases, wireframes, UX architectures and design specifications. . Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: especially Illustrator. . Excellent visual communications skills. . Great collaboration and communications skills (verbal and written English). Preferred . Experience designing and working with developers of ecosystems such as Windows Phone, iOS or Android.
