This is a Principal Developer position for BSS Evolved Architecture Model (BEAM) Platform Architecture within SA BSS in Business Area Cloud Software and Services (BCSS). The Principal Developer shall drive systematic evolution and modernization of BEAM Platform towards an architecture that leverages all the benefits of the cloud infra-structure, such as deployment automation, automatic scalability, platform agnostic, resources usage efficiency, built-in high availability and ensuring security compliance.
The position requires extensive knowledge, competence, learning, leadership skills and technical expertise of BEAM based Ericsson Charging & Billing Evolved (CBEV) portfolio. The position enables the acceleration and execution of BEAM products supporting scalable, flexible, distribute computing and cost-efficient platform with multiple independent business and partner models which will be the need of the next generation 5G enabled B2B2X market.
The position requires a good business understanding, in-depth system and software architecting knowledge, and PDU experience to drive and lead platform evolution from development unit perspective. Principal Developer BEAM Platform Architecture acts as the design authority, in defining, suggesting, concept building and approving design rules (& changes) for platform and non-functional related aspects. The position also steers necessary architecture (Cloud Native based) changes or framework enhancements that need to be adapted.
The appointed Principal Developer shall actively work with identifying and minimizing product gaps in platform and non-functional domain that is impacting BEAM based products TCO, increases competitive edge and TTM in the market.
In addition, the Principal Developer BEAM Platform Architecture involves in active Innovation & Research activities to the domain of work, leading to patent or IPR generation for Ericsson. This role shall also drive technology leadership in platform area with other BSS and BCSS platform leaders.
To summarize, aligning to the BCSS strategy of BSS portfolio evolution in Cloud Native, requiring a Principal Developer position in BEAM based product portfolio within BSS to anchor, steer and drive progress of this evolution across Evolved Charging & Billing. The Position requires 15+ years of hands-on experience with existing code base, in-depth BEAM architecture knowledge (predominantly platform and non-functional areas), coaching and mentoring capabilities.
The Principal Developer BEAM Platform Architect, supports and governs the Platform future within the BEAM based product portfolio as well as in other relevant BSS/BCSS Technology forums. The role will be exposed to customers, CUs, and sales to explain values connected to technology and architecture.
Main tasks and responsibilities include:
Responsible for definition, creation, supportability, modernization, and transformation of the Platform Architecture at BEAM product compound level - Evolved Charging and Billing (C&B) product portfolio.
Driver of blueprint requirements & continuous improvement towards modernization and TCO optimization of BEAM based Evolved C&B in the underlying platform areas, in alignment with overall Ericsson Strategy
Design authority responsible and Drive BEAM architecture development for the platform cloud-native area within BSS in accordance with the Ericsson architecture, thereby Responsible and accountable for BEAM based product platform evolution, direction of architecture
Able to evaluate and advise respective stakeholders on 3PP partnering opportunities to hold edge on technology, competition and TTM
Define strategy of 2PP/3PP in non-functional areas to BEAM Product roadmap and define requirements onto such products that are being used/planned in roadmap
Responsible to provide input to the BSS domain architects, authority directing Platform Application Components Chief Architects and non-functional system architects within BEAM to ensure network and interface integrity
Support and be involved in Study and Strategic PoCs related to platform/non-functional, including security area; support in driving unified solutioning across BEAM TPGs for easy maintenance and supportability aspects
Supporting E/// BSS Technology strategy in the areas of Cloud Native
Responsible for bringing feedback from Product Development and technology insights to improve and evolve BEAM Platform
Supporting technology strategy/plan and organization with guidance on business and technology trends, opportunities, including competition
Act as a competence builder in the organization through presentations, lectures, and/or workshops as well as coach developer
Supporting business decisions with architecture expertise and guidance and giving recommendations from platform/cloud native architecture view on all relevant product decisions
Foster innovation and submit IVDs/patents in the domain to secure relevant intellectual property for Ericsson
