In addition to the proprietary projects Karo Bio has two strategic collaborations with international pharmaceutical companies and one biotech collaboration for development of innovative therapies for the treatment of common diseases.

We are now looking for a preformulation/formulation scientist to join our Process and Pharmaceutical R&D dep.
Preformulation/formulation scientist
Job Responsibilities:
• Participate in the pre-formulation, formulation, and process development aspects of pharmaceutical dosage form development projects, primarily by coordinating outsourced formulation development activities. This involves many internal and external contacts, as well as travelling.
• Determine/evaluate physical-chemical properties of drugs, both in-house and together with external laboratories
• Assist in the preparation of the CMC part of the IND/IMPD
• Documentation of formulation and development work
• Communicate and collaborate with coworkers and management to meet project team goals
Qualifications:
• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or MSc with several years of pharmaceutical industry experience in preformulation or formulation R&D
• Experience with drug product formulations, pharmaceutical technologies and testing of formulations
• Experience with analytical techniques (HPLC etc.) is preferred
• Knowledgeable about regulatory and pharmacopeia (EP, USP) requirements, GLP/GMP and international guidelines as they relate to the development of pharmaceutical products
Additional skills:
• You have to be both innovative and creative, with the ability to transform ideas into products, as well as structured and thorough
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (very good English, spoken and written, is essential)
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and manage multiple activities
