At AstraZeneca, we're now looking for a Precision Medicine Expert, to join our global Precision Medicine & Genomics (PMG) department. The role is focused within the Respiratory, Inflammation & Autoimmunity (RIA) therapy area and placed at AstraZeneca's vibrant R&D site in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main duties and responsibilities
You'll be a member of the RIA Precision Medicine Unit (RIA-PMU) aligned to the RIA Therapy Area. Your objective will be to ensure that diagnostic tests and/or stratification tools are delivered to drug projects. This will entail implementing the strategy agreed with early and late stage project teams and managing PM activities including scientific and technical aspects of test development, test deployment into clinical trials, regulatory submissions and launch.
Providing expert advice on strategic PM approaches and diagnostic development to product teams, you will be instrumental in ensuring that we adopt world-class practice in the field to increase the likelihood of successful drug launch and return on investment. You will explore and bring in new technologies to push the boundaries of diagnostics in RIA and help to establish AstraZeneca as the world leading RIA Precision Medicine Company.
Essential requirements
* PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
* Experience in the development of complementary and companion diagnostic tests, and/or stratification tools, and their implementation in clinical studies
* Evidence of delivery and experience of PM approaches & diagnostic development, within either Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity therapy areas
* A deep understanding of the principles of translational medicine and knowledge of Respiratory and Inflammatory diseases
* Excellent skills in communication, stakeholder influencing, programme management
* Significant understanding of the multidisciplinary functions involved in diagnostic development
Desirable requirements
* Experience of developing diagnostic tests, regulatory interactions and test commercialisation
* Evidence of delivery and experience of PM approaches & diagnostic development in Respiratory therapy area
* Driven launch of diagnostic test and/or stratification tool in RIA
* Record of publications and strong external reputation in the PM field
