The arena
As a Pre-clinical Formulation and Analytical Monitoring Scientist you will be the bridge between several functions and skills, using your expertise and coordinating skills to support animal studies outsourced to external providers.
This role will be placed in Gothenburg, Sweden
The role
Accountabilities will include:
Act as the analytical and formulation monitoring scientist for pre-clinical studies outsourced to Contract Research Organisations (CRO's).
Act as the formulation and analytical link between Pharmaceutical Sciences and CRO's, review study plans, reports and co-ordination of supply of compound from AZ global sites.
Act as study monitor for GLP formulation stability studies.
Provide analytical and formulation support and oversight for pre clinical safety studies and critically review data and investigations when required (with input as required from other members of Pharmaceutical Sciences).
Ensure that work is performed in accordance to relevant quality systems and with appropriate safety.
Drive simplification and improvement processes.
Minimum Requirements
BSC/MSc in a relevant subject.
Practical formulation experience of at least oral formulations (ideally - infusion, inhalation and biologics), experience of troubleshooting and scale up.
Knowledge about administration routes and tolerability of vehicles.
GLP awareness/experience.
Toxicology awareness.
Experience of building good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders - ideally in a global context.
Good communication and negotiating skills coupled with the ability to work to tight timelines.
Good coordinating and organising skills.
Experience of using in-house computer systems e.g. compound ordering, electronic libraries (Canvas, Mosaic, D360/IBIS, Angel, Extrax) will be an advantage.
