Market Analysis & Future Power System
Asset Optimisation and Trading (AOT) is the Business Division where all Asset Optimisation and Trading activities are centralised for the Vattenfall Group. Our activities are multi-site located across Europe with more than 600 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark and Poland. We trade the full range of energy commodities such as electricity, gas, oil, coal, freight, renewable energies and emissions, take responsibility for a diversified sourcing of power, fuels and carbon credits and optimise the running and hedging of Vattenfall?s generation assets. These efforts are the basis for maximum profitability and continuous business growth.
Within AOT, the Business Unit Asset Optimisation Nordic is responsible for production planning, dispatching, logistics, as well as developing and implementing the hedging strategy for Vattenfall?s production assets in the Nordic area. Our mission is to optimize Vattenfall's Nordic generation portfolio, both in the short and in the long term. AON presently employs approximately 90 people.
Market Analysis and Future Power System, within Asset Optimisation Nordic (AON), is competence centre for Nordic power system analysis and responsible for the Vattenfall long-term market outlook in the Nordics.

A challenging and exciting position where you will get good opportunities to develop ideas and new approaches. Your main focus will be to help Vattenfall understand coming changes in the power system, and how they will affect the power market and Vattenfall?s business environment in general.
In your role as an analyst you will carry out calculations using power system models, and with integrity validate both model input and output. You will also perform in-depth studies of relevant topics and contribute to the development of the power system analysis. To represent Vattenfall in academic and research-related forums is also a part of your role.
Qualifications
Required education is a Master of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electric power, Energy system or equivalent). A ph.D. or licentiate degree in Engineering is meritorious.
It is an advantage if you have experience of power system-related issues from a technical perspective and good knowledge of power system functionality. Having experience of power systems-related issues from a market / economic perspective is meritorious.
You need to have very good command of English, both orally and in writing. Good Swedish written and spoken is meritorious.
As a person we expect that you are self-driven, creative and have good communication skills.
Location
Stockholm (Råcksta). Vattenfall's office will move to the Arena City in Solna in autumn 2012.
