Postdoctoral position
in the field of companion animal epidemiology
SLU develops knowledge about natural resources as well as social systems – everything that lives and grows. At SLU we conduct research, teach and inform about the opportunities, and possible risks incurred, when using our forests, landscapes, soils and animals in different ways.

Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Ultuna and Umeå. Research and teaching activities are carried out throughout the country.
www.slu.seThe Department of Clinical Sciences, Section for Veterinary Epidemiology, invites applicants for a one-year (with possibility for prolongation) full-time postdoctoral position in the field of companion animal epidemiology.
The research will be based on existing secondary databases and possible areas of research are specific diseases, as well as association studies between disease phenotypes and breeds of dogs. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with colleagues in a multidisciplinary group and to develop a research program within the research area of companion animal epidemiology. The position is for one year, starting October 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary is negotiated individually.
Eligibility and qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in veterinary medicine or another relevant area, with experience in analytical epidemiology, and a strong interest in research in companion animals. The applicant should have good communication skills and proven skills in both oral and written scientific English.

A short description (2-4 pages) of previous research, current research interests and other activities of relevance for the position.
