Subject area

Molecular hematology

Subject area description

The overall aim of this project is to identify molecular mechanisms involved in the development of AML and identification of novel ways to target leukemic cells in patients. The research is performed on both samples from patients with acute myeloid leukemia as well as in different animal models, such as the murine bone marrow transplantation model. We also perform research on hematopoietic stem cells in human cord blood and mouse bone marrow in vitro. We believe that our investigations will lead to a better understanding of the development of both AML but also other malignant hematological disorders and to better treatment of these patients.
