Would you like scientific freedom and ample opportunities within a long-term project and scientific prosperous environment? We are now looking for an operando spectroscopist (fully paid) to the Johansson Research Group funded by a unique Distinguished Professor Grant from the Swedish Research Council to Prof. Johansson. Apply your spectroscopy expertise to enable and understand next generation batteries - a very hot and important area of science.

Project description
With a perspective of fundamental, and yet application inspired, research on next generation batteries with a horizon of 2030+ and of both academic and industrial interest, we now look for an operando spectroscopist. More specifically, we want someone who can:
• Create proper set-ups for operando studies of several next generation batteries at the molecular level
• Run experiments independently and accurately to acquire properties of interest
• Analyze both electrolytes and electrodes using one or several spectroscopic techniques
The position has connections to national (BASE) and international networks (Alistore-ERI, DESTINY, Battery 2030+, BIG-MAP, etc.).

Major responsibilities
You will be a part of the Division of Materials Physics at the Department of Physics at Chalmers University of Technology. The major part of your time will be devoted to your research project, where you will be expected to plan, perform and disseminate your work in small and large collaborative constellations.
Supervision of BSc, MSc, and PhD students can be a part of the work. You will also be responsible for some common activities within the Division and/or the research group (today ca. 40/15 persons).

Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position may also include teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must have a PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent, awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline. You should have extensive experience of the techniques relevant for the postdoc position you apply for and very good communication and collaborative skills. Excellent oral and written reporting in English internally and to other members of the project as well as at international conferences and in scientific journals of high repute are all expected skills.

Contract terms
This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two years with the possibility of a one year extension.
