We now strengthen our prominent research by recruiting 21 postdoctoral fellows.

The Department of Built Environment and Energy Technology (BET) seeks to recruit a Postdoc. The selected person will join the Sustainable Built Environment Research (SBER) group and will contribute to research and administrative duties within BET and SBER. SBER conducts cutting-edge research linked to sustainable development, especially system analysis studies of bioenergy, building construction, energy efficiency, forestry and the interaction between these fields, and implementation of innovative solutions. The overall goal of the research is to understand how a sustainable built environment based on resource-efficient systems with low environmental impact can be designed and implemented.

Building Technology, with emphasis on environmental performance of buildings.

Linnaeus University, Department of Built Environment and Energy Technology, Faculty of Technology, Växjö, Sweden

Extent and period:
The basis for a postdoctoral position is 100 % permanent position to no longer then a maximum of two years.

Context of position:
The post-holder will primarily conduct research on resource- and climate-effective built environment. The main focus is to identify resource-efficient and low-carbon solutions for buildings in terms of design strategies, choice of materials, construction methods, energy supply systems and end-of-life management, providing guidance for stakeholders to optimizing performance of buildings throughout their lifecycle.

Up to 20% time can be dedicated to teaching and other departmental tasks.

Qualification requirements:
Qualified for appointment is the one who holds a PhD in Building Technology, Energy Technology or an equivalent degree in a related field, or a foreign degree equivalent to a PhD, and who has completed the degree no more than three years before the application deadline.

Applicants must not have previously been employed as a postdoctoral fellow for more than a year in the same or related subject area at Linnaeus University.

Assessment criteria:

•        Good record of scientific publication in relevant research fields
•        Experience of working in an international research environment
•        Good knowledge of English language

Applicants will be selected through a qualitative overall assessment of their competences and skills, with respect to their ability to conduct advanced research and to contribute to successful development of the research environment.
