From our centre in Gothenburg, you'll be in a global pharmaceutical environment, contributing to live projects right from the beginning. You'll take part in a comprehensive training programme, including a focus on drug discovery and development, given access to our existing Postdoctoral research, and supported to pursue your own independent research in groundbreaking laboratories. The Precise Genome Editing group is an innovative team developing novel technologies and applications of genome editing to drug discovery. We are part of the Translational Genomics department (Discovery Sciences) where we develop advanced cellular and animal models and we also provide expert support to other iMEDs for Next Generation Sequencing and Transcriptome analysis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an international environment on groundbreaking technologies that has huge potential in drug discovery. Moreover the postdoc will have the possibility collaborate with external leading experts in the genome editing field.

* To validate novel CRISPR systems in bacteria and to engineer new variants
* To perform genetic manipulation of cell line and primary cells
* To publish in high quality/impact journal the results of the research
Minimum Requirements, Education and Experience
Essential:
* Molecular biology expertise with deep expertise in vector design, mutagenesis and molecular evolution strategies in bacteria/yeasts
* Expertise with biochemical assay of DNA binding and nuclease cleavage
* In silico construct design and analysis of genetic perturbation after genome editing
* Hands on experience with Next Generation Sequencing library preparation and results analysis
* PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or equivalent
Desirable:
* Expertise with genome editing tools including Cas9/CRISPR, ZFNs and TALENs
* Experience with genetic manipulation of cell lines, primary and iPSC cells
* Ability to work with mice models
Skills and capabilities:

This is a 3 year programme. 2 years will be a Fixed Term Contract, with a 1 year extension which will be merit based. The role will be based in Gothenburg with a competitive salary on offer
