Postdoc at the University of Gothenburg, Institute of Clinical Sciences, Department of Biomaterials
This position as post doc is for a period of 2 years
We seek a postdoctoral researcher in experimental studies in biomaterials research, regeneration of bone and cartilage, interactions between materials and cells and cell-cell communication, especially exosomes.
Department of Biomaterials is an international leader in the field of osseointegration of implants and prostheses. The mechanisms of tissue regeneration are studied in collaborative projects with Swedish and international universities and medical device companies. The department is host for BIOMATCELL VINN Excellence Center of Biomaterials and Cell Therapy, and a partner in the Area of Advance in Materials Science, hosted by Chalmers.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for the position should have earned a PhD degree in a subject relevant for the position. The PhD degree should not be older than 3 years. Other requirements are knowledge of molecular biology, biomedicine and/or biotechnology. Considerable experience in molecular / biochemical laboratory techniques, in particular qPCR, is required. Work experience with cell cultures, exosomes and musculoskeletal tissue regeneration is an advantage. It is understood that the applicant masters scientific English and has good general communication skills in English (both orally and in writing).
When evaluating the applicants, particular emphasis will be put on research skills in a relevant research field.
The applicant should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The abilities to cooperate and to take own initiatives are important qualities together with accuracy and interest in research.
