The unit for Hydrological Research works in Sweden, Europe and worldwide with developing Water and Climate services based on forecast and scenario tools. We calculate variability in water resources, climate change impacts, and water quality in catchments. The work done here aims to improve decision support for physical planning and environmental control, as well as forecasting for flood warning services and the hydropower industry. We work directly with both external end-users and SMHI's more operational divisions. The unit has some 30 employees from 13 countries.

You are a good communicator, in spoken and written English, with the ambition to learn Swedish within a year. You have a doctoral degree in hydrology/meteorology or closely related subject. Education in statistics, spatial analysis and quality assurance is a merit, as is experience in hydrological forecasting. You have good knowledge in programming linked to water/climate research and experience in handling big data. We value skills in giving presentations and lectures, team work, agile approaches and delivery of results in a timely and qualitative manner.
