Project description
Are you passionate about advancing the field of cyber-physical systems? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our cutting-edge research project! We're looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to help us develop innovative testing methods for complex systems. In this project, you will have the chance to build on our previous work in black-box testing, while also exploring new frontiers by combining model-based and data-driven approaches to learn the unknown aspects of the system. You will be working at the intersection of multiple disciplines, leveraging optimization-based falsification techniques to assess the correctness of these intricate cyber-physical systems. This is an opportunity to get a challenge and to make a real impact on the future of autonomous systems, such as self-driving cars.
Information about the department
The Department of Electrical Engineering is characterized by a dynamic and international work environment with about 220 employees from more than 20 countries, with extensive national and international research collaborations with academia, industry and society. The department provides about 100 courses, including undergraduate courses in Computer Vision, Image Analysis and Deep Machine Learning.
Major responsibilities
As a part of this project, you will join a diverse team of PhD students and senior researchers from both industry and academia. Your primary responsibilities will involve conducting research, complemented by some teaching and collaborative engagements with our partners.
At Chalmers, a PhD student position typically spans five years, with an allocation of 80% of your time dedicated to research activities and the remaining 20% to departmental tasks such as teaching.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position, you must have a master's level degree corresponding to at least 240 higher education credits in automatic control and/or machine learning.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. If Swedish is not your native language, Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
Contract terms
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of five years.
