PhD student in Manufacturing Systems Engineering
Employment: Full-time; until 2013 (PhD-exam.)
Place: Luleå University of Technology, Luleå, Sweden.
Duties: 80 % research including courses; 20 % teaching or industrial studies
Start: As soon as possible
Subject: Process imaging and investigation of the melt pool flow and defect generation during laser welding, for different industrial applications; and generalised theory
Division: Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Dept. TFM, Luleå TU
Supervisors: Prof. Alexander Kaplan (LTU), Dr. John Powell (Laser Expertise Ltd., UK)
Requirements: Completed undergraduate education in mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, or similar. High motivation/curiosity for carrying out research. Fluent in Swedish.
