We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
To the ESS section we now recruiting a Performance engineer to the Product group
We are responsible to develop complete ESS functionality realized by HW and SW solutions. You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people. What will you do?
We are working in a cross-functional way from requirement, concept and design, final verification, implementation in production and aftermarket. You will work in concept design in early phases and throughout product development including maintenance. You will be responsible for performance and life requirements of the Energy storage system including collect and breakdown of stakeholders needs to requirements. You will develop battery usage profiles and mission profiles for battery performance modeling, Analyze battery and vehicle usage data from fleet test vehicles to compare and validate battery performance models, Refine and mature the performance requirements for energy storage systems and lead to balance the performance requirements. You will together with the product teams and attribute owners define the system performance to meet the requirements. You will have an important role in balancing of the technical solution and support for verification. You will be involved in technical decisions towards projects and suppliers, making sure that we continuously improve the quality.

Confident in leading system solution towards suppliers and product teams. We also believe that you feel comfortable of owning and take responsibility of the performance area and do so with great attitude. We believe that you have:
Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering or similar
8 years of experience from System design & architecture within automotive systems.
6 years of experience from development within Electrical Propulsion System. Experience of battery technologies/systems within the application of electric vehicles
4 years of experience from design within Energy Storage Systems. Good understanding of how BP building blocks and system attributes influence Energy Storage Systems performance.
Experience in defining requirement and balancing requirement between stakeholders and technical solution.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with Agile principles
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: Energy storage system, Volvos DVP process, KOLA, Agile Principals and methods. Experience of working as GCR/Component owner or PME
