Currently, the Patent Development part of the IPR and Licensing organization is looking for a talented Patent Attorney to strengthen our patent activities in Gothenburg, Sweden.

A Patent Attorney within the Patent Development organization is responsible for all aspects of patent generation and management, including coordination of external attorneys globally and advice on the commercial application of our patents. In addition to evaluating new patent ideas, drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications, the candidate will also be responsible for creation of patent portfolios and cooperate with Licensing and Business Management units to commercialize our patents.

Consequently, an excellent working relationship must be established with colleagues within the whole global IPR and Licensing organization, where Patent Development plays a very important part, as well as inventors and R&D colleagues.

The current Patent Attorney position is within Patent Unit Gothenburg Lund (PU-GL) in Gothenburg, Sweden. PU-GL has the main responsibility for patent development and management within Gothenburg and Lund sites for most technical fields but specialize in the technical areas of Packet Core solutions, antenna technology, microwave development and radio development.

Qualifications:
• You have substantive patent attorney skills, particularly drafting and prosecution, although experience of other relevant areas such as claim charting will also be of interest
• A minimum of 3 years' experience of patent work is needed
• If you have passed the European Qualifying exam (EQE) it is a plus. If you have not already passed the EQE we would like you start studies for this, which requires a considerable amount of self-studies
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• You have good knowledge of technologies in the telecommunications field such as Packet Core technology (e.g. Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Cloud, Broadband, and/or IP Technology) and having an interest in developing your knowledge further
• You have a commercial sense of IP.You have an M. Sc. degree in telecommunications, computer science, information technology or similar
• You have preferably excellent knowledge of European and international patent law and practice
• You are well-organized, can take initiative, can work independently, and have a good sense of collaboration
• You have excellent written and spoken English skills (further languages is a plus)
