Optimisation Engineer, Engine Control

At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Are you interested in design and connected car technology? Do you share our passion for people, the environment and our urge to create a superior driving experience? Research and Development is the place for you to prosper.

Volvo Car Group - Engine control is now looking for people who want to contribute to improving our cars' environmental impact and driving experience. We work with mechanics, electronics, controls, chemistry, fluid dynamics, modelling, simulation and software. With us, you will have great opportunities in specialization and personal development. Right now, we are in an exciting phase of development, facing the challenge to, in addition to diesel and gasoline engines, also develop electric motors, hybrids and engines that run on more environmentally friendly fuels. If we manage that, we will be a part of creating opportunities for our children to grow up in a better environment.

For us "Made by people" means that our different backgrounds and experiences within our section creates a dynamic whole. We work in teams, so we can support each other, exchange ideas and together achieve success. Every day is different, and we often face problems we have not seen before and in which we must use all our analytical skills, knowledge and experience. We work alternating with cars, engines in test rigs and as well at the office with computers. A few years ago, we decided to develop a large part of the software ourselves. It has given us more opportunities to direct our development to better products, and create tasks that are more challenging for our employees. We are now looking for ambitious and open-minded engineers in Optimisation.

As an Optimisation Engineer within the section Engine control you will work to optimise the control of the engine in a specific project.
