hela Sverige FLIR Thermography develops infrared cameras and software used for e.g. identifying energy leaks of buildings, faulty equipment in manufacturing plants, gas leaks, etc. While traditionally being complex work tools for professionals, over time our products are becoming increasingly adapted for regular consumer markets. As a forerunner of innovation in our domain we focus on user experience, new innovations and performance in our products.
Our development unit in Danderyd, Sweden, is searching for engineers that want to join the world leader in infrared imaging.
You, as optical designer, will be responsible for the optical design domain and will start early in the product development phase to design and simulate optimal optical solutions, for our future infrared products and accessories. You will work in cross functional teams in close cooperation with mechanical design and systems design and with our own IR-optics manufacturing that has polishing, diamond turning and coating in the same building as our product development. You will also do verification and test of the finalized optical designs. As a person you are passionate about optronics and have experience in development with focus on both high quality and high volume manufacturing. Preferably you have a network within optronics and are comfortable with working in an international environment.
We think you have a master degree in for example physics with specialty in optronics and at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of infrared specific optics is considered a merit.
FLIR Systems appreciates the positive affects of diversity and strives for equal opportunity within our organization. To the benefit of our engineering department, we seek a more balanced distribution of gender, culture and age, and highly encourage female applicants to this position.

• Eager to learn new skills and to continuesly improve both how to work and the final outcome
• Hands on experience with Zemax
• Master degree in physics or similar with deep knowledge in optical design
• Excellent skills in both Swedish and English
