Your workplace
Support and Services, a business area of Saab, supplies a wide range of services and integrated support solutions to customers in defence and on commercial markets for cost-efficient support of systems and platforms throughout their life cycle.
Saab in Östersund primarily works with defence-related materiel systems and our technological areas include special vehicles, power supply, ground equipment for aircraft, CBRN and equipment for military camps. You will be part of the GSS division with purchasing operations in Linköping, Arboga and Östersund. You will be based in Östersund and some business travel may be required.
Your role
As Operative Purchaser, you will purchase materials and services and manage associated activities such as communicating with suppliers, dealing with queries and evaluating them, placing orders, monitoring deliveries, handling claims, returns and invoices. You will also monitor and follow up that suppliers meet our commitments in accordance with purchase orders and agreed terms and conditions and you are responsible that we have a good relationship with our suppliers. The role also includes monitoring and following up supplier performance. You will also participate in supplier development and other purchasing related improvement efforts and analyses. As a purchaser you will also ensure that required End-user statements are provided to the suppliers and you will keep the ERP system updated with supplier and purchasing data. One important aspect of the role is also to keep updated on technical, commercial and other aspect within the product area. The work is often carried out with other
Saab units.
Your qualifications
You have experience of independent purchasing work, preferably combined with formal training in the purchasing field. Our wide-ranging operations mean that you must have broad purchasing skills. It is desirable that you have some form of technical background since our internal contact surfaces consist of technicians and purchasing needs are developed in dialogue with them. You communicate easily in both Swedish and English, both verbally and written. Any additional languages are a plus. You should also possess basic computer skills. It is also important that you are good at communicating as you will have many contacts both internally and externally with our suppliers. It is important that you can work both individually and in groups, since many assignments are run as projects.
