During 15 intense and exciting months, starting September 2019, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group's global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end to end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations.
In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several "on-the-job" rotations and have the opportunity to work on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization:
The factory is located next to the Ume River in the city of Umeå. Umeå has approximately 120,000 inhabitants and about 1400 of them work in Volvo's cab factory. The factory was founded in 1929 by Gösta Nyström (1906-1988). The Umeå cab plant produces cabs for different Volvo models such as Volvo FH, FM and FMX, from steel coil to painted cab. Besides delivering cabs to the chassis plants, the cab factory sends material package kits with cab parts all over the world to other Volvo plants. The Umeå plant has a high technical level and the employees are skilled in their different roles to secure that we always deliver our products in the right time and also according to the high quality demands our customers have.
This is us, your new team:
Maintenance engineering is a team with maintenance experts within pressed parts, body in white, paint, energy, electricity and spare parts. The team's main responsibilities are to develop strategies, methods and ways of working for the operational maintenance departments and support them in the implementation process. It is a quite young team that works both together and individually to continually improves and develop the maintenance within the plant.
Main activities and responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the future Industry project within maintenance, also known as smart maintenance. In the role you are to participate in developing strategies to ensure that new maintenance technologies are taken into account. You will also be responsible for coordinating tests and the implementation of new maintenance technologies. For this position you are required to build networks and communicate throughout the whole plant, within the Volvo group and with external experts and suppliers. Also, you need to feel comfortable with working with people with different backgrounds and from different cultures in both English and Swedish. This role requires both technical understanding and a good social ability.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
BSc or MSc in maintenance technology, computer science, engineering
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Solid English and Swedish skills
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
Work permit for Sweden
