What you'll do
Our Network Engineers are responsible for planning, building, and maintaining our Enterprise Network & Network Security solutions that our company organizations rely on. We are as a team globally responsible for all solutions needed to fulfill this scope. We are now looking for a Network Connectivity Engineer joining our Enterprise Network & Security Solutions cluster that would like to be part of the exciting technical transformation journey that we are on.
The primary responsibilities will include:
* Be a part of the development of new services that enables Volvo Cars to visualize, secure and optimize the network services for our business
* Design and manage the rollout of various network infrastructures with necessary capacity planning, performance tuning, and configuration optimization
* Overlook network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations
* Participate in IT security audits, and respond to existing audits and ensure required controls are implemented as required
* Build key relationships outside of IT to understand business needs
* Communicate complex details in a way that people can understand, and advocate for the end user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the products, empathizing with, and understanding user needs
* Work closely with our team of network engineers and architects to ensure the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and practices in our enterprise networking environment
* Stay current with industry trends and best practices, making recommendations as needed to ensure our company develops and delivers future state architectures and roadmaps
* Provide technical expertise and best practices concerning the overall of the organization's network infrastructure
* Document solutions and hand over to operations
You will also be working closely with the users of our network to identify potential issues and proactively mitigate them, employing advanced problem-solving skills. We believe that you as a person enjoys guiding and supporting our different application teams with various obstacles they may encounter while establishing their services in the cloud.
Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for you who have at least 3-5 years' working experience as a Network Technician/ Engineer or related position in a global environment. To thrive in this role, you will need to have a good knowledge of Enterprise Networking with an eagerness to develop professionally. We are in a highly transformative era with great opportunities for development, working with the latest technologies.
You have a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in relevant field. You are fluent in English, both verbally and written. You are experienced working within teams that use collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or alike.
As a person you are user focused and with a great team spirit. You are reasonable, open to new ideas and always looking for ways to improve. You are enthusiastic, have forward thinking and you push for innovation. You are skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required. You have a holistic viewpoint and are value oriented, with an ability to inspire and motivate others in working towards a goal. Knowledge within application development, automotive industry, and SAFe methodology is a merit.
Location
You will belong to our office in either Gothenburg or Stockholm with the possibility to work in a hybrid setting.
