* Welcome to the south of Småland
Kronoberg is known for its forests, lakes, glass, and furniture - but it also offers a rich cultural life with theatres, museums, art, and film. Here you can choose between living in a small town, the countryside or a modern urban environment. The Residence city of Växjö has about 100 000 inhabitants. Amongst many things, it has a University with an onsite campus and an airport with both domestic and international flights.

• About the workplace
At the women's clinic, we work in teams with children's nurses, nurses, and doctors where you meet and support the family before, during, and after childbirth. We work to strengthen the woman's and the family's capacity to give birth and care for their child.

It is part of the midwife's area of competence to handle normal childbirth independently together with her team. This requires that you as a midwife are active, responsive, and able to make quick decisions with the patient in focus. Complicated births are handled together in collaboration with doctors. We accept patients from pregnancy week 27+0. It is varied work where you, as a midwife, meet patients who come for assessment, hospitalized patients, and meet the family when they return for a return visit.

Operations are conducted during all hours of the day. You are expected to enjoy working during changes of pace and capabable to act in urgent situations. At the maternity ward, you meet antenatal inpatients as well as families and their newborn babies and you support them during the first days together. There is a close collaboration between the neonatal unit and the maternity ward. The clinic's return visit unit and breastfeeding clinic are located next to the maternity ward. We also offer support before childbirth at our Aurora clinic.

Arbetsuppgifter
With us at the women's clinic, you get interesting and developing work with opportunities for your own skills development and also have opportunities to help develop the department's work. You will receive an introduction close to the workplace, planned based on your conditions/prior knowledge. Our staff receives internal training in breastfeeding.

We offer rotational duty (both day, evening, and night shifts), which means you get shorter working hours: a night index of 1.4. That means that one hour at night counts as 1.4 hours worked. Scheduling is planned so that night and day shifts are not mixed during the same week.

You are also offered ongoing training during your employment to strengthen and develop your skills. At the clinical training center (KTC), you have the opportunity to practice various practical exercises together with colleagues. Our midwives receive continuous training in breastfeeding, suturing, complicated births, and emergencies. The clinic also participates in various research projects.

Kvalifikationer
We are looking for licensed midwives who are passionate about women's health. You adapt easily to new situations and are able to think on your feet and make your own decisions. You are positive in your way of working with the patient in focus.
