The successful candidate will join a team of highly dedicated, hands-on merchandise professionals who share the vision to deliver merchandise which support brand strategies and do that effectively and with high quality.
We are now looking for a Product Designer on a temporary contract since our current designer will be on parental leave.
In your role you will be interacting with our clients and other group functions design collections, products, graphics, packaging, labels for own production, or through third party vendors, that clearly fits into each client's merchandise strategy.
An important part of your work is to make sure that VGMS's collections are in line with Volvo Group brand and merchandising guidelines in terms of product selection, logotype placement and colors.
Key responsibilities of the position are:
• Produce artworks for merchandise products and graphic prints, production sketches, measurements lists, technical specifications
• Follow up on product samples ensuring product make, measurements and fit to specification
• Drive merchandising product innovation within Volvo Branding guidelines based on trend analysis and market needs
• Team up with our clients to understand their needs and the needs of their customers related to merchandising products
• Represent design of merchandise products in relevant projects and forums within Volvo Group
• Cooperate with GTT Product Design Department secure that design elements and graphics get a correct representation in merchandise products

Competence & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a combination of knowledge of graphic design as well as product design related to clothes and other merchandise products. You should be able to develop a collection from an idea to technical specifications that can be sent to supplier for production, therefor it is important that you have good knowledge in English and patternmaking. You must be able to turn a short brief from our customer into a new collection line with a red thread running through the products. You must be creative and know how to make collection presentations containing all info about the products that the customer needs. You are a team player that works with a fast pace towards clear deadlines and targets. It is important that you work close to the purchasers to have an efficient development of products. You are socially skilled and build good relations with others by being open minded with a positive attitude.
IT and applications:
You are highly skilled in working with Adobe Illustrator CC and you feel comfortable with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of a CAD/CAM system within pattern making is a merit.
Fluent in spoken and written English, another language is a merit.
