Job Description:
The Mechatronics Design Engineer will be involved in the development of mechanical and electronic systems in consumer electronics products. Work will be conducted closely with in house engineering teams (EE, SW) to develop and integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines. Applicants should have experience using Solidworks for the design and evaluation of moulded and machined plastics, stamped and formed metals as well as various assembly and manufacturing methods.

Core Responsibilities: 
 - Create and maintain detailed mechanical designs and documentation
 - Coordinate improvements in engineering designs and manufacturing processes
 - Manage segments of projects through to completion
 - Aid with the specification and sourcing of materials, and construction involved during the product development process
 - Author detailed Product Requirements Documents and specifications to enable efficient development
 - Work via established communication channels with Suppliers/Partners to collect data and implement improvements for reducing variation of delivered details and assemblies
 - Prototype bring up and debugging, hardware testing, analysis and manufacturing test support
 - Fabrication and assembly using laser cutters, CNC, and 3D printing technologies

Requirements:
 - High level of competency in Mechanical Design with SolidWorks 
 - Basic software architecture and design understanding
 - Experience in C/C++ Development for Embedded (8/16 bit) and x86 Architectures
 - Rapid Prototyping with Python and other Scripting Languages
 - Experience with Low Power Embedded Systems Design
 - Must be capable of working on multiple projects, be detailed oriented and have a disciplined approach to document control
 - Ability to Learn efficiently
 - Excellent verbal and written skills (English)
 - Have an open and creative approach to Problem Solving
 - Excellent team player
 - Experience in a consumer electronics engineering environment dealing with high volume and high quality products is an advantage
 - Additional experience in Electrical Engineering and PCB design is a major plus.
 - Interest in music or sound design 
 - A good sense of humour
