hela Sverige In this role, your main tasks will be to perform calculations and simulations mainly within the field of mechanical structures and specifically when it comes to seismic demands on the HVDC plant. In addition you will be transforming customer specifications and standards into consequences for HCDC in terms of risks, time and cost. Our international team consists of mechanical-, electrical- and electro mechanical engineers handling tenders, projects, conceptual design and R&D. Your main stakeholders will be project managers, other designers and lead engineers.
To successfully take on this position you need be positive, with high level of responsibility, thorough and analytical. You also value ownership and performance. You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar and a couple of years of experience from working with mechanical structural analysis, preferably with seismic content. Experience from electrical stations/equipment and using simulations programs like ABAQUS is a merit. Fluency in English is also expected in this role.
You will be part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), which is a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
