JOB DESCRIPTION
As Mechanical Engineer you will join our Sourcing team within Operations and your main tasks will be to handle our existing tools for plastic injection moulding and die casting.
You will work closely with the team when we start second source tools to secure our volume production.
Your tasks will span over a wide range of different products, designs, characteristics and requirements hence an open minded and flexible approach to mechanical design is very important. Mechanical development at Axis is done in close collaboration with teams within electronics and software as well as teams outside of R&D, enabling you to grow and learn continuously both from within Axis and in your frequent contacts with suppliers and manufacturers.
The Sourcing team is a small but growing organization within Operations department and you will be a key player in developing processes and methods for high volume management of our full portfolio of products since this is a new role within the organization.
Axis and the network video business are growing rapidly which makes your every day at work here increasingly interesting – and more challenging.
This job will require around 30 days of travelling to our suppliers every year.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for an open minded and driven individual willing to share ideas, knowledge and experience on a daily basis to further develop our creative and open environment. Hence, good communication skills and an easygoing attitude are vital. A wide interest and a curiosity within mechanical design, especially within plastics, mechanisms and injection moulded parts is important. A proven ability to think outside the box and find new ways to solve well defined problems will also be a great asset in your daily work.
We believe you have a master in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience within mechanical design and product development. Specific experiences from DFM, plastic design, tooling and production are highly valued and will come to use in your daily work. Experience in 3D CAD - preferably Pro/Engineer - and fluency in English, both written and spoken, are essential skills.
