www.fingerprints.com Fingerprints is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packages, to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices. Our R&D organization is growing to meet the demands from our customers and to expand the usage of our sensor products. In order to secure that our products continue to have the right quality we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer focusing on product mechanical drawings and mechanical simulations of our microelectronic packages.
The Role
You will be part of the growing Package Design team, within R&D Microelectronic Packaging group. This position will have several work tasks close to the product and perform simulations of new products. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for supporting Fingerprints R&D Packaging team with CAD-Material, design reviews, technical drawings and visualizations. You will also be responsible for supporting the Fingerprints Package Design team with FEM mechanical simulation analysis.
Main tasks for the role:
• 3d modeling and compiling technical 2D drawings in SolidWorks for development and manufacturing.
• FEM mechanical simulation in COMSOL as engineering development support.
• Provide illustrations and visualizations using CAD software and Adobe CC suite.
• Stack-up simulations of new packages to study warpage behavior.
• Continuous documentation of all items above.
• Set up structure for documentation handling system.
The team adapt internal qualification plans to meet requirements from customers for new products. In this position, you will have the opportunity to lead your own work and you will have plenty of opportunities to work with your problem solving. You will be a central position of the group and a "go-to person" in projects. For the right person, there will be a lot of internal and external contacts, mostly with our suppliers in Asia. Work location will be ether Gothenburg or Malmö. Travels to suppliers and other Fingerprint sites from time to time is needed. You will report to Manager Package Design.
Your Background
• Master in Mechanical Engineering or related courses.
• Familiar with common mechanical manufacturing processes, ether from industry or industry related projects from academia.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Proficient in COMSOL or similar FEM simulation tool.
• Experience in mechanical drawing, visualization and animation.
• Experience in document revision handling and documentation.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.
• Knowledge in Chinese or other languages is a plus.

• This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace.
• Have good experience from team leading and/or project lead in a technical organization.
You are also a self-driven person that takes on new tasks with engagement and used to work in environments where the solution isn't given from start. To be a service minded person is a key to success in this role when you have a lot of communication and change in tasks along the way. Also, to be organized and structured in a flexible and changing environment is important for this position.
