Job Description:
As part of the RnD department, you will have a key role in Gapwaves mission of leveraging innovative technologies to deliver advanced antenna solutions.
As a mechanical design engineer, you will be part of a development team consisting of 5-7 engineers working together with a project manager to deliver customer projects and drive internal development projects. In our projects you will be part of going all the way from concept to complete product. You are actively engaged with the customer to understand their requirements, you lead the mechanical design phase where you work iteratively with your electrical engineering counterparts to find the best solution from electrical and mechanical performance standpoint, work with suppliers to find the best manufacturing solutions, and lastly ensure that the parts and assembly are validated to reach the expected performance.

Responsibilities:
• Mechanical design & verification of antennas and other parts
• Establishing of mechanical drawings
• System design of new mechanical concepts
• Ensure manufacturability of the designs in high volume
• Technical interface towards suppliers/manufacturers & customers
Required Qualifications:
• University degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
• Experience from mechanical CAD work
• Proficiency in English and basic computer programming
• Exceptional interest and drive towards technical excellence
Meriting Qualifications:
• Experience with components and antennas in waveguide technology
• Experience from manufacturing process like injection moulding, metallisation, die-casting, stamping, etching
• Experience from automotive industry
• Experience with mechanical specification drawings
• Experience working with high volume production
• Six sigma or similar statistical tools
• Experience in Solidworks
