We are searching for Material Development Manager for our team within non-woven!
The material development team provides the expertise for materials used in Incontinence, Baby and Feminine care products. The team develops and optimizes materials in cooperation with suppliers to deliver on product innovations, quality, supply and cost save targets.
The Material Development Manager is responsible for leading the material development in the defined material area in close cooperation with suppliers, innovation teams and other appropriate parties.

The position will report to the Material Development Director in R&D Personal Care and will be based in our brand new office in Gothenburg.
Main Tasks
Lead the required development of new and existing materials in close cooperation with the supplier or other appropriate parties.
Recommend suitable material/and or supplier in innovation projects and other material related activities, such as material rationalization and quality improvements. The participation in projects/activities can be of different levels - as consultant or as part of the project team
Together with sourcing establish supply stream strategy for the material area and drive implementation
Lead the required development of new and existing materials in close cooperation with the supplier or other appropriate parties.
Build and maintain a broad and deep competence and knowledge in the material area
Participate in assigned patent watch teams, and actively work to patent new material solutions
Initiate and lead material development activities in own area to deliver on the R&D platforms and improve state of readiness for future Innovation projects
In conjunction with our stakeholders build and maintain R&D relations with suppliers in own area
Own and establish material specifications for defined material area
Drive cost efficient use of defined material throughout the value chain, across Categories and Geographies.
Build and share best practice by monitoring SCA's and competitor's materials as well as material trends in the industry.
Key Competencies
University Degree or equivalent within relevant practice, within a technical field, preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Textile Engineering
5-10 years of experience in the relevant technical field. Ideally experience from both R&D and operations.
Good understanding of the material and product development process from consumer insight to launch, and working processes/tools related to material and product development, such as patents, Six Sigma etc.
Proven strong material development capabilities and skills. Profound knowledge of assigned material area as well as relevant Products and features, Technologies and Materials.
International exposure
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build constructive and effective relationships and networks at all levels both internally and externally
Fluent in English, both written and oral.
Ability to travel
