Material Control Manager
Powertrain Production Köping, Transmission Centre within Volvo GTO where there is consistent ongoing development progress for the role as Centre of Excellence for the transmission area. There are currently approximately 1400 people working at the sites in Köping.
Since our current Material Control Manager within Logistics now take on new challenges within the company, we are seeking her successor. The Logistics Unit faces an exciting phase and we need you who want to be involved in developing our future work processes.
As Material Control Manager you are to independently operate the unit for material procurement with responsibility for about 10-15 employees in the unit for procurement of materials, change request handling and inventory of production materials. You will have the operational responsibility of the department and also be responsible for delivery control function so that our established goals are met. You will be part of a global network and have a reporting responsibility within Powertrain in corporate and global issues.
As Material Control Manager your main tasks will consist of the following:
• Manage and prioritize work within the unit according to the objectives and agreements
• Responsible for the development of material control systems
• Budget responsibility
• Ensure that the right expertise is available and to ensure that it is properly staffed for the development and management of the business
• Work to eliminate downtime by working with production and other support functions
• Ensure that suppliers deliver materials on time and in the right quantity
Qualifications
You have a University Degree in a relevant field and several years of experience working within purchasing / materials procurement. You have good negotiation skills and you have had staff responsibility for a larger group. We believe that you have solid experience in logistics work, budgeting, and the ability to work effectively and create networks to fit the role. You have great skills in written and spoken Swedish as well as English and you have well-founded knowledge in Microsoft Office.

In order to fit in the role as Material control Manager you have to be structured, analytical, enthusiastic and creative. We also see that you have the ability to interact with others while you can make demands. You are an ambitious person with high energy. You work well independently and are customer-focused as well as having the ability to see the big picture, to think and act strategically is not a problem.
