With 65 employees of various nationalities its role isto reinforce SKF's technical leadership in manufacturing and processing of products in the area of ourfive different platforms: Bearings and units, Seals, Mechatronics, Lubrication systems and Services.

In the New Manufacturing Technologies area we are working on new and novel manufacturing processes and production techniques. Important issues are lower cost, greater flexibility, better precision and added value products. We will look into new areas and new processes, which will give SKF a leap in manufacturing. The work involves close co-operation with universities and research institutes. New technologies should be carried from an idea via laboratory tests, industrialization and pilot implementation work at factory sites. In order to strengthen our team we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer in the field of mechanical engineering with materials background who knows how to complete a project and implement results.
Job Profile:
• To define, create and test new processes.
• Work with advanced universities and research institutes to build up know-how and competence in new manufacturing technologies.
• To translate new ideas into opportunities for SKF.
• Execute and analyze tests under laboratory conditions in order to evaluate new techniques and processes.
• To work closely with our customers and when needed work in the manufacturing environment on tests and/or implementation work.
• To collect the requirements from the factories, listen to their needs and translate this into projects in line with the New Manufacturing Technologies portfolio.
Our Requirements:
• Academic background in material science or mechanical engineering preferably a PhD.
• Ability to manage medium to large size projects.
• Ability to communicate clearly the results and findings to our customers in the divisions.
• Experience with process development.
• Willingness to travel and to work abroad on short assignments.
• Good ability to speak and write in the English language.
• Self motivated, communicative, team worker.
