What you'll do
As Commodity Manufacturing Engineer you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phases within the commodity area within Volvo Cars. Your main tasks will be to assure a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within all the Volvo Cars plants global.
You will also:
* Ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs
* Drive and follow-up quality, man hours, cost efficiency, environment, flexibility, and change over, within area of responsibility
* Create and upgrade assembly instructions for production
* Create and upgrade FMEA for your defined area and Follow-up of cost within responsible area
* Lead, give input, report concerns and coordinate the manufacturing process within Product & Quality
* Represent Manufacturing Engineering as well as within Manufacturing Engineering and Product & Quality
* Ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs
Do you fit the profile?
* Technical competence at senior high school or university level or equivalent.
* Practical experience of the production processes and/or design development.
* Driver's license B
* Fluent in English, spoken and written.
* Ability to travel
Other meritorious skills you might have:
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and Product & Quality.
* Skills in Product Development, preferably in automotive industry
* 6 Sigma
* Fluent in Swedish spoken and written.

To succeed in the role you need to enjoy working in a team and you have good communication and planning skills because this is something you will use daily in your work tasks. In order to achieve the above you are open, creative, positive and have the ability to listen to others.
In order to fully enjoy the job you are target oriented, you see opportunities rather than difficulties and you have good analytical abilities.
Lastly, you have a great ability to organize and prioritize your own work task and you enjoy working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team.
