Manager Munktell Museum

Are you interested in a position within history and construction equipment where the sky is the limit?

You are? That is great, because we are looking for a manager who will run the Munktell museum in Eskilstuna today and develop the museum for the future. Here you will be able to combine your historical interest with your work. The museum is a well-loved institution that consistently ranks in the top three visitor attractions of the local community, in both attendance and visitor appeal.

Who are we?
We are a team of people, volunteers and employees, who are passionate about the history of Volvo Construction Equipment and like to share our interest with others both external and internally. Your main task is to be our manager and be responsible for daily operation of the museum. You will support our and the museums development as well as finding ways to attract new volunteers to our team.

Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible to optimize the visitor experience and physical journey through the museum's past, present and future. Your success will be measured on set targets for the museum, sales and visitors.

The museum is working as conference and event facility, and we would like to see this part of the business developing further. You will be given free hands to promote the museum through both conventional and digital marketing methods. Other tasks are to guide visitors, coordinate group visits, maintain and develop relationships with other museums, universities, as well as the City of Eskilstuna.

You will work closely with the Volvo Construction Equipment Customer Center in Eskilstuna, as well as the Volvo museum in Gothenburg.

You will report to VCE Communication as well as to the Munktell Museum board of directors.

In order to thrive in this position we believe that you are an outgoing person who enjoys to network and to use your social skill. You have knowledge and experience from our industry, and are passionate about the Volvo Construction Equipment's current and historical product program. Communication and marketing is one of your strengths. You communicate clearly, in Swedish and English, with understanding and adjustment towards different perspectives and recipients. You are creative and open to new ways to market and develop the museum to attract visitors.
We should not forget, that we also would like a strong leader with the capability to lead, develop and motivate us as individuals as well as team.
