Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania is driving the shift to a sustainable transport sector and EC connected systems is in the front seat enabling this transformation. At Connected Systems, we work with solutions from the vehicle-mounted telematics unit, via the Telecom networks and to the cloud platform and infrastructure. We have today over 600,000 connected equipment (trucks, buses and engines)! The platform operates globally and navigates the complex regulatory requirements across most different regions. Our ambition is to be globally connected across all regions this commitment is pushing Scania's connected communication platform into a new transformation.

We are projecting a growing organizational demand to meet the platform's ability to be resilient and trouble-shootable. We have split one of our groups in two and the opportunity then is for a group manager and leader to join the ECP management team, taking on a super-charged team of full-stack developers.

What you will do

You will build this new group starting with the existing team with a primary focus on the off-board connectivity platform diagnostic framework and the front-end tooling for troubleshooting and fault finding within the connectivity system. The team stakeholders are varied, from back-office development teams, through the support lines to workshop users troubleshooting connectivity issues for customers. Some of the challenges facing the team today are meeting the global regulatory demands (GDPR, etc) and the distributed nature of the connectivity system across regional boundaries.

Your strategic input into how the overall connectivity platform should evolve will be instrumental in keeping our solution resilient - thereby meeting customer demands for uptime and dependability.

Who you are

For this role, you need to be a systems-oriented, analytic and structured person. You are not afraid to reach out and communicate with varied stakeholders. It is important in this role to have a holistic understanding of the value chain and how platform users are affected. You are agile and supportive of your team with a dynamic roadmap.

You need at least two years of experience as a first-line manager and leading Teams, and you most likely have a formal degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering or computer science, or the equivalent experience. In addition, you are expected to have experience in working with software development. Knowledge of the areas of Cloud Computing/IoT/Connectivity /Telecom and the electrical system of heavy vehicles is a great advantage for this role.

What we can offer you

We offer a healthy and inspiring workplace, with respect for the individual, where you have great opportunities to shape your work and your future.
