The purpose of the Core SW department is to develop and deliver a basic execution platform to EMP software developers. This includes low-level device drivers, power management solutions, a real time operating system, file system, memory management software, compilers and debugging tools.
EMP's mobile platforms continuously require best in class solutions to secure our customer's success in all market segments.
We currently need to further strengthen our "Device Drivers and Power Management" team and are looking for experienced low level software developers. Most pressing needs are for Memory Controllers and Mixed (analog and digital) Signal ASIC (including the platforms power management unit) drivers developement.
System Control (including power save solultions) is a particularly challenging area; how to distribute power and clock signals, identify what parts draw current in relation to use cases, how to synchronize clocking of shared resources between CPU cores, and how to handle side effects e.g. heat, are some of the issues handled by the team.
Our software modules are targeted to a RTOS (OSE) in the first place and we also develop some software modules for our CPU's running embedded Linux.
You will work with the latest technology and highly advanced and complex embedded systems. The software artifacts under our resposibility are of significant importance to our customers. You will work with a team of highly skilled and motivated indiduals who are dedicated to developing best in class products.
• A Master of Science in Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years experience with developing low level software in C in a RTOS environment
• Experience using In-Circuit Emulator/Debugger
A general understanding of SoC components, CPU, caches, DMA, memory controllers, interconnects, memory, system control (e.g. power, reset and clock signals distribution) is desirable.
We expect you to have a good background in digital electronics. You are a resourceful and creative system designer with experience in developing low level software in real time embedded systems.
We think you are a "hands-on, make it happen" kind of person who also feels comfortable sitting in the lab integrating/testing/debugging low level software software. You are working well in a small team and you are focused on reaching result on time.
