The role Logistics Engineer - Transport Implementation is located within the Operational transport function within the Inbound Logistics organisation (IBL) and will report to the Manager Transport Optimisation and Implementation. This function is critical to meet Volvo Cars' budget targets for IBL costs. The purpose of the Transport Optimisation and Implementation organisation is to identify development of cost, service, lead-time on a tactical (short -mid term) level. The function shall improve the current inbound transportation network as well as integrate new material part suppliers and carriers to create a related reliable logistics network. The function adapts the chosen transport mode to line speed changes. The team works in close cooper5ation with Inbound & Outbound Strategic Network Planning. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Main responsibilities
• Implementation of changes and new carrier routes
• Planning tasks (e.g. verifying, analysing and providing data, preparing documents, packaging planning)
• Implementing standards, shippers, logistics service providers (LSP's) and routes
• Develop and implement improvements for existing transport concepts and modes
• Identify and implement new transportation concepts (LTL-tours, milk runs, hub-systems etc.)
• Secure successful transport implementation with carriers and parts suppliers
• Align new concepts and agree changes with involved stake holders
• Responsible for quality relevant matters in area of responsibility and representation of IBL in the various planning and working groups
• Coordinate update of master data in plant ERP-systems
• Ensure through constant improvements that area of responsibility meets the targets (budget, lead-time, frequency, quality and benchmark costs).
• Align all activities with internal Volvo Cars stake holders.
• Ensuring up to date master data in Transport Management System (TMS)

Required qualifications
• A University degree is preferred but equivalent experience within the area is acknowledged.
• Experience of transportation optimisation and/or implementation
• Good understanding and experience of Transport Management System
• Understanding of complete material flows and value streams
• Fluent in English

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical ability
• Project experience
