There is now an opportunity for you to join us at Volvo Group Trucks Technology in the Driving Performance & Aero team working within Energy Economy, Fuel Economy, Average Speed, Drivability, Range, and Aero.

In our organization we work with driving performance within Energy Economy, Fuel Economy, Average Speed, Drivability, Range, and Aero. We are the customer voice. We work with Driving performance which defines, verifies, and validates customer features/attributes focusing on enhancement of vehicle performance. Our team 's main goal is to sustain and strengthen our leading position on heavy duty trucks around the globe.
As a Lead Test Engineer
You support the team with energy economy, range, drivability, and aero testing, equipment choose and some post processing analysis. You work also with the test results, including Analysis and Feature conclusion. You also deliver engineering reports with clear status, recommendation and proposals for improvements. You work with complete vehicles of all different types and drivetrains such as Battery Electric Vehicles, Fuel Cell Vehicles, and ICE.
You will work with complete vehicle testing mainly coordinating on road tests but also chassis dyno and some support to constant speed airdrag testing, windtunnel testing, and soiling when it is needed.
You are also expected to drive and develop new test methods so we can be more efficient and get reliable results in every test.

We believe that you have the following background, skills and competencies:
Master's degree in applied mechanics, mechanical/electrical engineering or similar
Minimum 5 years automotive industry experience, preferably within the testing of energy/fuel consumption area and other similar testing and analysis
You are a self going practical person with good physical knowledge, you only need your truck, measurement equipment and a laptop to perform testing and explain in detail why the results look like they do.
It is also an advantage if you have experience working within the powertrain/hybrid/electric area and with energy/fuel consumption simulation tools.
English proficiency
A good team player as has to work with diverse team, humble, learn on fly attitude, accommodative, passionate ; Decision making; Stakeholder agreement and negotiations; a good communicator, transparent, have travelling flair when required..

ATI Vision
Vector CAN analyser
Dewesoft or DAQ system data logging retireving software handling parameter setting
Knows different sensors technologies, working principle and what fits where their precision and advantages and disadvantages over one another
Knowledge of Vehicle CAN buses
Engineering Tool
Sakura
M-Logger and Arcos Know how
